UWEC Wind Symphony at MN Music Educators 2018 Midwinter Clinic

The UWEC Wind Symphony is performing at the Minnesota Music Educators Association Midwinter Clinic, at the Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 2nd Ave S., Minneapolis, Thursday, Feb. 22 7:30-9:30 p.m. The concert will feature works by Hesketh, Ticheli, Gabrieli, Svanoe, Hindemith and more. We will be joined by Dr. Michael Shults, saxophone soloist and Dr. Phillip Ostrander, guest conductor. UWEC Bands Facebook page.

Please plan to join us on Friday, March 9, at Maryvale Baseball Park, 3600 N 51st Ave., Phoenix to watch the Brewers Spring training game against Oakland A's at 1:05 p.m., pregame tailgate at the park. Cost: $36 per person, includes game ticket and pregame tailgate with lunch of hot dogs, hamburgers, coleslaw, chips, and a beverage, bring your lawn chair, sit back and relax before the game. Eau Claire Jazz Festival and 52nd Street

Every year jazz fans flock to Eau Claire to experience one of the largest jazz festivals in the country. During the Eau Claire Jazz Festival, UW-Eau Claire students, guest artists and Eau Claire community members watch and perform the some of the finest jazz in the world at venues on campus and in the community. This festival, presented by Eau Claire Jazz Inc. in partnership with UW-Eau Claire, really is “all that jazz” on "52nd St." During the 2018 Eau Claire Jazz Festival, you and guest are invited to join other Blugolds for an exclusive pre-52nd Street celebration. Join us Friday, April 20, from 5-7 p.m. for the special kick-off alumni event at The Lismore Hotel before downtown Eau Claire transforms into a jazz nightclub scene, come to Halls at The Lismore to enjoy your favorite beverage, and The Taste of New York City, and lots of Blugold camaraderie! 2019 Paris Choral Festival

The UW-Eau Claire Concert Choir had the honor of performing on the 50th (1994) and 60th (2004) anniversaries of D-Day in Europe. This opportunity to perform on the world stage will again be possible for alumni and friends of the Concert Choir in 2019. Choral alumni are invited to join the Eau Claire Master Singers in the formation of a UW-Eau Claire Alumni Choir that will participate in the Paris Choral Festival. Dr. Gary Schwartzhoff, UW-Eau Claire professor emeritus of music, will direct the choir and serve as artistic director for the festival, which will commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the liberation of France. Learn more about the festival as well as registration information. Registration and down payment are due by March 15, 2018.
